For many years, a young and attractive park ranger in deep south Texas used a variety of methods to carry his binoculars. From hip holsters to elastic harnesses - NOTHING FELT RIGHT!
In 2016, new birding friends convinced him to try making a DIY crossbody paracord strap.

Robust
The Venture Strap is over 40 feet of braided survival paracord with a breaking load of 550lbs. In addition to seven nylon strands, survival cord also contains a 25 lb. fishing line and jute rope for firestarting. Resists rot, mold, and UV damage. An additional 12 feet of standard 550 paracord makes up the flexible core of each Venture Strap.
Comfortable
Breathable and lightweight, The Venture Strap can be worn for hours in the field in many weather conditions. This crossbody strap is an excellent alternative to complicated sagging harnesses or sweaty neckstraps. Grab your binoculars or camera, throw the strap over your shoulder and venture out!

Field-tested extensively for over eight years before becoming available for purchase, The Venture Strap can last for many years with occasional maintenance. The first strap created by Amberwing Studios in 2016 is a little scuffed but still in great shape - we just wanted to try out different colors after a while!
